About the project:
Poverty is a socially constructed category that incorporates a plurality of negative meanings and connotations that are reflected in society and consequently deteriorate the social interactions and the quality of the environment. It is important to reflect and act upon phenomenon in order to understand their diversity and the objective repercussions and on individuals and societies the experience. The eradication of poverty and social exclusion is one of the main challenges of development and human rights of our century, with a growing awareness that it is imperative to reconcile economic evelopment with cohesion, social justice and sustainable development. The environmental problems are also responsible for increasing poverty they jeopardize economic activities that communities depend, especially in rural areas. It is therefore essential to think the reduction / eradication of poverty through a perspective of sustainable development, preserving biodiversity and ecosystems, and through an integrated work and partnership between civil society, the state and the third sector in order to achieve equal opportunities, freedom, social justice and quality of life.
- To promote the acquisition of practical skills and theoretical in the social and socioeducational - Meet the demand for professionals capable of meeting the needs of a rapidly growing market - Activate new job opportunities for professionals in the field of innovative design and management of the activities of a social, educational and cultural - Permit the sharing of best practices - Encourage the deployment of a European specificity of economic and social growth linked to the development of the sector - To promote cooperation with the City of Viseu institutions / companies / non-profit organizations both domestic and foreign - Enhancing the professional skills of young people in the social and socio-educational - To facilitate and encourage the emergence of roots operational realities in the society through the placing on the market of professional profiles already formed - Enhance the language skills of young participants.
Aims and Objectives:
This youth exchange will helps countries to simultaneously reduce poverty and achieve sustainable development that leads to transformational change, bringing aboutreal improvements in people’s lives. We promote an integrated approach to achieve sustainable development that tackles the connected issues of multidimensional poverty, inequality and exclusion, and sustainability, while enhancing knowledge, skills and production technologies to reduce risks and sustain development gains. We help countries build their capacity to integrate environmental considerations into development plans and strategies, including through managing and sustainably using natural resources; ensuring that natural wealth is used to improve people’s lives; promoting economic recovery and livelihoods, and better targeting policies and social protection for those in need. Our goal is to strengthen capabilities and opportunities to reduce poverty and marginalization – focusing on the most vulnerable and excluded population groups – in ways that are sustainable from economic, social and environmental standpoints. To reach our aim we will help young leaders and youth workers to develop such competences and tools which will allow them to become peace journalists .
Accomodation:
You will be accommodated at Pousada da Juventude de Viseu, is a Youth Hostel, renewed, which offers the best conditions shows a strong desire to get younger and thus have a multiculturalism that makes this experience a real adventure and discovery. The Hostel enjoys a perfect situation to explore by foot the center of the Town, the catedral, museums and it’s near to Fontelo Park, where you can enjoy the nature and outdoor sports.

Participation fee:
20 euro participation fee will be collected from each participant
