SHORT TERM EVS IN BULGARIA - 2 months (for people from Croatia, Portugal, Macedonia, Moldova, France


Association "Alternativi International" is looking for motivated young people from Croatia, Portugal, Macedonia, Moldova, France and Czech republic to take part in a short term EVS project in BULGARIA.


Duration of the service: 10 May 2016- 9 July 2016


Place: Blagoevgrad


Description of the project: Тhe project 4 ALL II is a continuation of to the successful first part and will include 16 volunteers in 4 periods of 2 months each as well as 2 volunteers for a long-term period of 9 months. The project will involve young people aged between 18 and 30 years old from the Czech Republic, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Spain, Portugal, Moldova, Macedonia, Croatia and France. The actual project activities of the will start in October 2015, when we will host the first group of four volunteers from different states for two months, and two long-term volunteers from Georgia and Spain. The overall objective of the project is to make volunteering more accessible, attractive and popular for young people. Another focus of the project is organization of leisure activities for local youth trough youth clubs- dance, cooking, cultural classes, language school, etc. Another key priority of the proposal is to foster intercultural dialogue, understanding and tolerance between young people from different countries and social and economic status trough volunteering. The project will offer young people an alternative for spending their leisure time, while promoting the development of their skills and their civic activity by the methods of non-formal education. The expected results of the project are: increased interest and awareness of Erasmus +, and EVS in particular; increasing the number of young people participating in EVS; improving language skills of local youth; increasing sense of tolerance and solidarity to other cultures; awareness of the values of volunteering.


Profile of the participants:

  1. Young people motivated to develop and share their skills and experience in the sphere

  2. Generally the age limits are (18- 30 years old).

Volunteers will be chosen on the basis of their Curriculum Vitae, Motivation Letter and a Skype interview.


The volunteers will work for 34 hours for a week, including training sessions, monitoring and Bulgarian classes. All these moments are mandatory being important for the integration and improvement of their language level. All have two consecutive days off per week (usually on Saturdays and Sundays), although these may change depending on the specific needs of each work area. At these days of rest they can add others two days off per month in according to their tutors.


Health insurance: The volunteer will receive insurance for the full duration of the sercice


Travel costs: 275 euro will be covered by the project


Accomodation: Private apartment in city centre with kitchen, bathroom and all facilities. Shared bedroom possible.


Food money: You will be receiving food money monthly (100euro)


Pocket money: You will be receiving pocket money monthly (70 euro)


Description of the organization: Association Alternativi International is youth non-governmental, non-profit making organization working in the territory of Blagoevgrad region. The main objective is to encourage personal and professional development of young people through non formal education and also the building up and development of active citizenship among them. The organization is an alternative for young people in the region to realize their potential and become an active part of the society. "Alternativi International” is founded by people seeking the positive change for young people in Bulgaria. For that reason the main target group is youngsters aged between 17 and 30 years old. We also aim at providing equal possibilities for youth with fewer opportunities. The organization gives them the opportunity to develop their selves by participating in various initiatives and events at local, national and international level. The association organizes information days and campaigns, cultural events, discussions and debates on different issues, etc. The organization, in partnership with students from the city, issues and youth newspaper, to inform young people about career opportunities, trainings, work placements, internships, cultural happenings and so on. The organization is working with the aim to develop intercultural dialogue and understanding between young people from whole Europe crossing all the differences. We are developing initiatives fighting the racism and xenophobia among youth from different religious, ethnic, cultural, geographical or economical background.
