TC''EUROPEAN QUALITY IN YOUTH PROJECTS" - ROMANIA

Association "Alternativi International" is looking for 2 motivated Bulgarian participants to take part in a training course in Romania !

Dates: 06 May - 14 May 2016

About the project:

"European Quality in Youth Projects (EQYP)" is a mobility of youth workers under Erasmus+ (Eastern Partnership), KA1, Youth aimed to train youth workers in the quality management field and to develop a quality standard for youth projects.

EQYP will include a training course aimed to tackle the main fields related to youth project quality and a seminar during which a European Quality Standard will be created.

Target group:

We envisage our participants to be youth trainers, workers, group leaders, project managers, mentors, or part of any other category of youth professionals involved in Erasmus+ projects both as participants and coordinators, most likely involved in designing them.

They should be active members of projects’ partner youth organisations, able to use the methodologies and techniques learnt during the TC in Bucharest and have the capability to add value to them.

Having expertise in at least one of the key topics of the project (non-formal learning, projects management, partnerships, PR & Communication (visibility and dissemination of results) and financial planning) is mandatory and they have to be willing to share their expertise to other participants.

We encourage participants of all eligible ages to take part in our project, but from our experience, most of the participants willing to take part in this type of activities are aged 18-30. We must add the fact that we consider this group age to be quite balanced and it also fits GEYC core target group.

Regarding gender balance, we shall take care that the proportion of females and males participating to be close to 50%/50%. In our previous projects we had more female participants and thus, it would be good if you can include more male participants.

Moreover, equality of chances is one of the values shared by GEYC and its partners; we will not tolerate any kind of discrimination throughout this project, especially regarding the selection of the participants.

The main selection criteria will be participants' motivation.

On National Agency request, the partner organisations have to be able to justify the integration of their representatives in the target group. Only the participants belonging to the target group could be funded in the frame of this project.

The project is implemented by 11 organisations leaded by GEYC and is co-financed by the European Commission through Erasmus+ programme.

PROJECT ACTIVITIES

We focus very much on personal development and participants’ ability of being aware of their own capabilities, learning outcomes and accept possible limits. Valuing education through all its shapes, binding formal, non-formal and informal means, we will address the needs of participants for relevant and useful information and tools in the domains of project management, communication and negotiation, branding and financial planning.

Thus, the activities for this TC are organised taking into account the level of difficulty, time needed to solve the tasks, level of group integration. Also, we have taken into consideration the fact that depending on the time of the day, human’s brain activity is higher, allowing humans to better concentrate and learn, or, on the contrary is lower, breaks being necessary.

TRAINING COURSE LOCATION

Romania (România) is situated in the north of the Balkan Peninsula on the western shores of the Black Sea. It enjoys great natural beauty and diversity and a rich cultural heritage. Romania enchants visitors with its scenic mountain landscapes and unspoiled countryside areas, and also with its historic cities and its busy capital. Over the last decade Romania had undergone a significant development and it is one of the recent members of the European Union. Tourists from western countries might still, even today, enjoy some surprising experiences in Romania. This is a large country which can sometimes be shocking with contrasts: some cities are truly Western Europe; some villages can seem to have been brought back from the past. While it has significant cultural similarities with other Balkan states, it is regarded as unique due to its strong Latin heritage.

Things for which Romania is famous include: the Carpathian mountains, sculptor Constantin Brancusi, wine, salt mines, George Enescu, medieval fortresses, Eugene Ionesco, "Dacia" cars, Dracula, stuffed cabbage leaves, Nadia Comaneci, primeval dense forests, the Black Sea, Gheorghe Hagi, sunflower fields, wolves and bears, painted monasteries, the Danube Delta, etc. etc.

Bucharest is the 6th largest city in the European Union by population within city limits, after London, Berlin, Madrid, Rome, and Paris (about 2 million people). Economically, Bucharest is the most prosperous city in Romania and is one of the main industrial centres and transportation hubs of Eastern Europe.

Bucharest ranks second among Europe’s ‘coolest’ cities, according to a top published by the online magazine slate.fr. The coolest city was chosen using several criteria, such as the price of beer, the number of students in the city and the number of neighborhoods where tourists and residents can have fun.

Bucharest's public transport system is the largest in Romania and one of the largest in Europe. Reaching the city is possible via many flight, rail or bus connections, while the city itself has a large metropolitan transport network including subway, buses, trolleys, trams, 10.000 taxi cabs and minibuses.

Cost of living in Romania: Curious about the cost of living in Romania? You can check Numbeo statistics which are really close to the reality. However, as Bucharest is the capital, you can find:

Food and clothes - a bit more expensive than in the rest of the country;

Public transport, electronics and devices – a bit cheaper than in the rest of the country;
