Association "Alternativi International" is looking for 1 motivated young person to take part in a long term EVS project in Ommen, Netherlands.

Project description: We want to tackle unemployment! Olde Vechte Foundation in Ommen, The Netherlands is organising a project exclusively for youngsters who are unemployed for longer than 12 months. It can be because there is no paid work or there are other obstacles for you to find a paid job. The focus is to offer you an opportunity to gain skills and competences at several places in and around Ommen, to working skills and get to learn the Dutch labour market. This project is aimed for youngsters between 18 and 30 years old, who are willing to do practical work only. We are looking for carpenters, plumbers, cleaners, gardeners, etc. It is for those who want to experiment voluntary work and who are open to life and work in an international context for a year. You as a volunteer have the opportunity to work at a variety of organisations in and around Ommen. If you have any special interest, for example: gardening, repairing or constructing, cleaning, etc. please let us know

Housing: You will be housed in a holiday house for four people, named Calluna. From the Olde Vechte to the house it’s about 6 km biking. It has its own shower, kitchen and toilet.

Insurance: You will get a medical insurance that covers most of your medical expenses and issues, named AXA.

Finances: You will receive per month € 110,- pocket money and food money - per day € 5,61 living money (aprox 170 euro per month)

Activities: Olde Vechte will function as a coordinating organisation of the project. It means that your EVS tasks are not in Olde Vechte but at working places away from Olde Vechte. The working week is from Monday until Friday, with a total of 36 hours, including travelling time between your house and the work place. We have a variety of working places where you can work which are shortly described on the right. We are also looking for more possibilities, according to your needs; we need to know upfront on what you would like to work during your EVS. In this way you can find what you like doing and what you are good at. Maybe you even find what is it that you want to do in your life!! If there is somewhere where you would like to get additional work experience or that you are already good on doing please let us know. For example gardening, enjoy repairing or constructing, take a few moments and think about it while filling in the application.
