"Active volunteers, better citizens" is a multilateral youth exchange which was implemented between 17 and of 24 July 2015 and gathered 36 youngsters from Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Moldova, Latvia and Estonia. The project proposal is a result of the coordinating and the partner organizations experience in the youth field at the everyday problems they are facing- lack of information, lack of willingness to participate in volunteering activities and lack of awareness of volunteering's values as well as well as not understanding the concept of European citizenship and it's rights coming along. In this context the main aim of the project is to stimulate young Europeans willingness to become active citizens as well as to provide them with a platform to realize the meaning and the values of volunteering and the European citizenship concept. During the one week in Bulgaria we have met with the youngest member of European Parliament-Mr. Andrey Novakov, we had a flashmob and public action to raise awareness on the topic as well as interactive presentations. As a result of the project we have a project logo, video, newspaper. The project encouraged tolerance, solidarity and adherence to European values. The young people became more aware of the concept of European citizenship and their role of young European citizens.
