Call for participants

Association ,,Alternativi International” is looking for 2 motivated Bulgarian participants to take part in TC in Yerevan, Armenia between 17th - 24th of August 2015.

The Training course will gather 20 young people from Spain, Bulgaria, Turkey, Latvia, Croatia, Italy, Armenia, Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova in order to share opinions about the concept of Sustainable Development and take responsibility to actively participate in shaping a sustainable world. In other words, the TC will be about empowering young people to foster sustainable development in their communities as well as discussing and addressing main environmental challenges on local and the global levels.

The main objectives of the TC are:

-to empower motivated young people to become active in their civil society to foster sustainable development

-to provide the participants with basic knowledge about sustainable development

-to reflect on own attitude and actions of participants regarding sustainability

- to share ideas and opinions about the present and future environmental challenges

-to stimulate collaboration among participants from EU and non-EU partner countries in the field of sustainable development

Sustainable development stands for a better quality of life for everyone, now and for generations to come. It’s a fundamental objective of the EU. Even though there were important achievements in implementing the sustainable development strategy in the EU, it’s not a secret that still un-sustainable trends persist both in EU countries and in Neighboring countries and the EU. They are ranging from climate change and ageing of societies to widening gap between the rich and the poor.

The idea of the TC is not only to give knowledge but competences to act. Hence, mainly non-formal learning methods will be applied , such as workshops, discussions, group works, outdoor activities, city game, field visits, etc.

Venue: JRs House Hostel Participants will stay in the hostel JR's House which is located 3 minutes to the metro station, and around 15 minutes' walk to the center of the city.

Hostels facilities: outdoor area, Wi-Fi, towels, fully equipment kitchen, hair-dryers. Address: James Bryce Street, 4/1, 0019 Yerevan, Armenia For more information: www.jrshouse.com
