Association ,,Alternativi International” is looking for 4 motivated Bulgarian participants to take part in TC in Birmingham, UK between 15 - 23 June 2015.
The course’s main aim is to develop competences of youth workers in using multimedia to promote cultural diversity for and with young people. Additionally, the project will indirectly lead to increased transversal skills of young people, as multimedia tools they will be taught by youth workers and leaders can be used in formal education and labour market.
Main Project objectives, aligned with the objectives and priorities of the Erasmus+ Programme 2014-2020:
-to develop competences of European youth workers, notably in the field of using multimedia and fostering cultural diversity
-to develop transversal skills of young people by using non-formal learning to develop their multimedia and communication skills
-to increase recognition of non-formal learning by the formal education sector
-to promote young people’s active citizenship in general and European citizenship in particular by encouraging young people to be leaders in their communities
Main objectives of the project are:
-to give concrete tools to participants through using of visual art (photography, video) and discovering Birmingham’s architectural heritage in order to better understand cultural diversity
-to promote non-formal education as an appropriate methodology for youth work; Methodology of project will be based in non-formal education
-to promote cultural diversity as a resource for our society and stress its positive sides
-promoting Erasmus + programme as a tool for active citizenship and participation in social life of young people
Planned activities/ Schedule
To really get the most out of your training course we will always start early! After socialising in the we'll start at 9:30am in the morning with energizers! Each day we'll have two main activity sessions that will be based on non-formal education and learning by doing. They will all be targeted to intercultural exchange, socializing, having fun and, of course, our main project's topic – using Multimedia and Diversity to help the youth leaders and young people. We'll all go to lunch and dinner together in the city centre and have coffee breaks during the day. If the weather is good we'll be doing some of the activities outside so that you could enjoy it to the fullest. Naturally, we’ll leave free time for you to relax in the city. In the evenings we'll have cultural nights (each country have to prepare for that), which will be followed by further socialising and having fun.
The main activities include:
· Meeting, icebreaking, team building
· Introduction and usage of YouthPass, reflections, evaluation activities
· Country presentations of partner youth organisations, youth initiatives
· Analysis of multimedia and diversity youth programmes in each other’s countries
· Workshop on Multimedia training and funding opportunities
· Learning how to use Multimedia to promote diversity
· Group exercises, games, quizzes, simulations, educational activities on diversity;
· Generating non-formal methods for teaching young people about diversity;
· Movie afternoons on diversity. Making of a video on the topic
· Setting further work-plan: preparing Erasmus+ projects;
· Excursions to the city / sightseeing / visiting Europe’ largest library;
· Playing continuous games such as “The Killer”, “Best buddy”, filling in “Gossip Boxes”, etc.
· And of course HAVING FUN! Because that’s the key thing, isn’t it?
